Cancellation & Refund Policy

We understand that plans may change. This policy explains how cancellations, changes, and refunds are handled for bookings made through Tokyo Boat Tours.

1. Customer Cancellations

If you wish to cancel your reservation, please contact us as soon as possible using the contact details provided on this website.

Cancellation fees apply based on the scheduled tour date and time.

2. Cancellation Fees

The following cancellation terms apply unless otherwise stated on the relevant tour page:

  • 168 hours (7 days) or more before the tour:
    ⇨ Full refund (100%)
  • Less than 168 hours but 120 hours (5 days) or more before the tour:
    ⇨ 70% refund (30% cancellation fee)
  • Less than 120 hours but 72 hours (3 days) or more before the tour:
    ⇨ 50% refund (50% cancellation fee)
  • Less than 72 hours before the tour:
    ⇨ No refund (100% cancellation fee)
  • Same-day cancellation or no-show:
    ⇨ No refund (100% cancellation fee)

3. Late Arrival

If a guest arrives late, Tokyo Boat Tours will make reasonable efforts where possible; however, depending on vessel scheduling, port conditions, and other reservations, late arrival may lead to a shortened tour, rescheduling refusal, or treatment as a same-day cancellation or no-show.

Refunds are not guaranteed in cases of late arrival.

4. Changes Requested by the Customer

Requests to change the date, time, or course are subject to availability and operational feasibility.

A requested change may be treated as a cancellation and rebooking depending on timing, availability, and the nature of the request.

5. Weather, Safety, and Operational Cancellations

Safety is a priority in all tour operations. If Tokyo Boat Tours or the operating vessel provider determines that a tour cannot be operated safely or appropriately due to weather, sea conditions, strong winds, poor visibility, mechanical issues, navigational restrictions, port restrictions, or other operational reasons, the tour may be canceled, delayed, shortened, or rescheduled.

In such cases, Tokyo Boat Tours will offer one of the following, depending on the situation:

  • rescheduling to another available date and time, or
  • a full refund of the amount paid for the affected booking

No additional compensation, including but not limited to transportation costs, accommodation costs, lost opportunities, or indirect expenses, will be provided unless required by law.

6. Cancellation Due to Customer Conduct or Safety Concerns

Tokyo Boat Tours may refuse boarding or cancel the service without refund if safe operation cannot be ensured due to guest conduct, including but not limited to intoxication, dangerous behavior, refusal to follow instructions, harassment, violence, or conduct that interferes with the operation of the tour.

7. Refund Processing

Where a refund applies, it will be processed to the original payment method used at the time of booking, unless otherwise required by the payment provider or applicable procedures.

The timing of the refund may vary depending on the payment provider or card issuer.
